Once an important fortification for England's coastal defences, the sleepy village of Yarmouth is today a haven for yachtsmen plying the Solent. Late afternoon in October the waters of the inner harbour mirrored the masts of moored boats, until the reflection wavered in the wake of a passing motor cruiser.
