Where the Sea Meets the Shore

There is a rapture on the lonely shore,

There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea and music in its roar
I love not man the less, but Nature more
Lord Byron, 1788-1824
Water is a source of endless fascination. The waves, the tides, the beaches, and the life that we find there are all great sources of inspiration. Rocks are eroded into fantastical shapes by the wind and the surf, and the receding tide leaves artistically decorated sand. We play in it and on it, and some still catch fish for their livelihood.
