| Waimea Canyon is known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. It is 10 miles long, a mile wide, and over 3500 feet deep. The Waimea Canyon Road takes you on a 40 mile journey across the centre of Kauai, with numerous places to stop and take pictures and admire the spectacular scenery on the way. If you are feeling adventurous, you can take a helicopter ride over the canyon, or the energetic may decide to hike some of the 45 miles of trails. | |||||||||||||||||||
