As the famous quote says, I love "messing about in boats". This is a study of the front cleat used for mooring a narrowboat. During the Industrial Revolution, longboats were used to transport goods all over England via an extensive network of canals and canalized rivers. Sadly, the railways overwhelmed the canal system and all but put them out of business. Today the canals are being restored to their days of glory. They are hosting ever increasing numbers of pleasure boaters and retirees who enjoy living on the water and the ability to move your house to a fresh location whenever you like! |
