| Near this famous Kauai blow hole is another that blows only air, making a loud groaning sound. Legend has it that the shore was once guarded by a large mo'o (a lizard) that attacked and ate everyone who tried to fish or swim here. One day, a man named Liko went for a swim. When the mo'o attacked, he swam under the lava shelf and escaped through the blowhole. The mo'o chased him and got stuck in the lava tube, where he stays to this day, hungry and in pain and groaning loudly. | |||||||||||||||||||||
