Banff National Park was the first National Park in Canada, and in North America, only Yellowstone is older. The average annual snowfall is 235 centimetres in the town, higher for the numerous ski areas in the area. The skiing season is generally November through May, but it can (and frequently does) snow in every month of the year in the Canadian Rockies. This was taken on a January afternoon just before sunset. |
