Plants, Flowers, and a few Butterflies All sorts of flowers the which on earth do spring
In goodly colours gloriously array'd
Edmund Spenser, 1552-1599
Flowers are transient beauties. They are there today in profusion and tomorrow you cannot find even one. Butterflies are the flowers of the insect world with their brilliantly coloured wings and short lives. The dramatic orange of a lily, or the more subtle hues of an Indian Paintbrush in bud are wonderful subjects for photographers. Finding a butterfly that will stand still long enough to pose for a portrait is another challenge.
