Field Patterns in The Palouse in Winter
The Palouse in eastern Washington State is an area of intense agriculture. Very little of the native prairie still exists, consequently much of the wildlife in the region, particularly birds and small mammals, is no longer seen. Interestingly, as urban areas increase and suburban landscaping moves into the countryside, some of the scarce wildlife species are beginning to return.
