Inukshuk

Inukshuk, or more properly inuksuk, means "likeness of a person" in the Inuit language. It is a stone figure made by the Inuit of the Canadian Arctic for a variety of purposes. It may be to show directions to travellers, to warn of danger, to mark a place of respect, or to help with the cariboo hunt. Recently it has become a fashionable international symbol of friendship and community. We found this inuksuk in the red rocks of the Valley of Fire in Nevada.
