The Hand of Man Genius is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration.
Thomas Edison, 1847-1931
Unspoiled nature is beautiful without question, but Man's works are also inspirational. One can admire craftsmanship, seen in the perfect lines and curves of a ploughed field, or in the delicate decorative chasing on a lead downspout. Monumental works such as bridges and highways have their own excitement. When weather and time take a hand and add mellowing effects of crumbling stone or peeling paint, the result is photogenic indeed.
