Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth

And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings...

Birds can be such frustrating creatures to photograph. I have many, many images of waterbirds, and most of them are swimming away from me, unhurriedly, and yet somehow they are out of range before I can properly focus! They are an expensive undertaking too, your longest lens is always just that little bit to short. I suppose the difficulties are what makes a successful shot that much more satisfying.
