Evening in St Ives
The history of St Ives, Cornwall, goes back to its founding in the fifth century by an Irish saint. Over time the town grew to become a major port and centre for shipping. While some of its former glories as a commercial and fishing port are in decline, St Ives is still a prosperous and bustling town where life centres around the picturesque harbour. On an autumn day in 2004 the late afternoon sun made the quaint old buildings around the harbour glow and lit up the colourful dinghies of the fishing fleet.
