This muddy track was once the main road between the silk mills of Macclesfield and London. On a glorious autumn day the grasslands of the Peak District seemed to glow with a multitude of colours. It was cold and windy on the hilltop, but well worth leaving the warm car to walk along the path and enjoy the subtle beauty of the windswept landscape. This photograph was taken in early November, 2006. |
