Dahlia
Dahlias were discovered in the mountains of Mexico by the Spanish. The Aztecs used dahlias as a treatment for epilepsy, and at one time they were used to create a medication for diabetes. The first European hybrids were developed by the Dutch, today there are thousands of cultivars in a wide range of sizes and colours.
