Cumberland Island Foal

Wild horses on Cumberland Island, Georgia, are more correctly described as "feral", since they are mainly descended from stock brought to Cumberland by the Carnegie family, which once owned most of the island. Some consider their continuing residence on the island to be controversial, since they are not native animals and they can have negative effects on the fragile ecology of the barrier island.
