Cornish Industry
I took this picture at Botallack in Cornwall. One of the most famous of the tin mines, it was worked between 1721 and 1914. A brief attempt was made to revive the mine in the 1980's. To me the lonely chimney stack with the ruined boat beneath speaks to the heart of the fortunes of the two great Cornish industries, mining and fishing. I chose to make all of this photograph black and white except for the small bits of colour on the chimney and the wrecked dinghy.
