| The cheerful Brazilian, or Red Crested Cardinal (paroaria coronata) feeds mainly on the ground, looking for seeds, plant matter, insects, and fruit. They are often found in pairs or small family groups. They like semi-open areas with shrubs and trees, and also dry forests.
