Fruit Bat

Greater short-nosed fruit bat; Cynopterus sphinx, hanging in a tree

The Greater short-nosed fruit bat is a small bat, with a longish snout and soft brown fur. In some places they are thought to be pests that destroy fruit crops, but they are also important pollinators for certain plants and seed dispersers.
