Capsicum, also known as bell peppers, are members of the nightshade family. They are eaten raw or cooked. The common green pepper is an immature fruit, while the red, yellow, and orange bell peppers are ripe. Capsicum is an excellent source of laxative and pain relief, and it is suggested it also has prostate cancer fighting effects. I found this basket of organically grown colourful peppers at the Eden Project, in Cornwall. |
