The Casino, Baden Baden

The spa town of Baden Baden is almost as famous for the oldest casino in Germany, as it is for its Roman baths and healthful waters. The casino was built in the style of French palaces, and was a famous destination in the 19th century for the wealthiest people from all over Europe. It is still magnificently maintained, and it is run in the old fashioned style, with formal dress required.
